Cold storages are categorized into low-temperature, medium-temperature, high-temperature, quick-freeze, and controlled atmosphere storages. The primary market is low-temperature storage, accounting for 72%, mainly for food storage at -18 to -25°C, ideal for meat and vaccines. Common Solutions for Cold Storage Flooring and Their Issues:

Option 1: Steel shot with sealing hardener for a dense surface, preventing water infiltration.

Option 2: Water-based polyurethane mortar. Excellent in preventing freeze-cracking and water seepage.

Challenges:

1. Being a rigid system, it is less effective against cracking. Normally, the flooring performs well, but local cracking can allow ice water to seep in, causing expansion and concrete damage.
2. Low-temperature conditions hinder or slow the chemical reaction, necessitating shutdowns for maintenance, thus increasing costs.
3. Mechanical properties weaken in low temperatures, reducing lifespan.
